VCSY Announces Launch of Emily Information Web Site; Company Responds to Third-Party Demand for XML

LOS ANGELES -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Sept. 6, 2000 -- Vertical Computer Systems Inc. (OTCBB:VCSY), a leading provider of Web-based multilingual portals and e-business solutions and developer of proprietary software, today announced the launch of an educational and informational Web site devoted to in-depth explanations of the company's XML-based software solutions.

The site has been developed in response to growing demand from business and consumer groups for information on the company's proprietary software products.

This new Web site aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the Emily Solutions suite of products. The Web site offers a user-friendly guide to the fundamentals of the Emily(TM) technology, including resources such as white papers and product information. Interested parties will be able to access this site at http://www.emilysolutions.com.

VCSY has developed and is the sole owner of the Markup Language Executive software suite, or "Emily." Emily allows improved Internet "compatible format" integration and searching capabilities, and ultimately allows databases to communicate over the Web.

With the continuing advance of XML as the chosen solution to the problem of standardizing bilateral data exchange between business partners, VCSY has engaged in the development of a series of building-block solutions, to be released as part of the overall Emily Framework Solutions Suite product strategy. The Emily XML Enabler Agent(TM) is the first of these building blocks.

"The interest in our new XML-based solutions has been significant," said Richard Wade, president of Vertical Computers. "Our company is developing and providing cutting-edge software solutions for business-to-business integration through the use of our proprietary Emily scripting language."
